I wish I had Hugh's knack for saying such reassuring things. I try, but I just don't have his gifts.

You know, I was having to shop for a gift earlier for someone I don't even remember who but, this one store I was in had this big display of old style candies, and they had Necco wafers! Remember Necco wafers? I used to love those, with those crazy flavors like chocolate. Some people think Smarties are better but they're wrong, and I bring that up because I once had an argument about that with someone while working on The Music Man, and I insisted that there really wasn't an argument as they were two completely different candies, but he insisted they were close enough that one had to choose. I eventually said it was a stupid conversation and I don't think we talked much for the rest of the run. Anyway, about the candy, I bought like one of everything to give Hugh a taste of what American candy used to be like. (I've never bought so much candy in my life, but some things were in all different flavors -- like Ring Pops! -- and I didn't have time to decide.)

Candy necklaces are neat too.

Okay here are a couple of pictures Hugh took last night while I was in the depths of a Dramamine coma. (And yes blah blah I'm a doctor and I should have known better blah blah. I've already heard it all from him.)

The hotel room is gorgeous! We're just kind of bumming around today, getting our strength up to start the "real" vacation tomorrow. Not that just staying in the room isn't fun in itself.

Also that Twitter cut out some stuff and made it look like one Dramamine took me down. Not so! Here's what you didn't see:

I think I took like seven or eight total, I don't remember. I remember teddy bears, and a blue car, and then I woke up this morning in bed. I did feel quite rested though.

P.S. Hugh got one of these "Twitters" too but I don't see it...*sigh* Neither of us is terribly adept at consumer electronics OR online technology I'm afraid.

Okay, Hugh's opened his present and I guess you guys want to see what I got him...

First of all I made some cupcakes. Hugh said they were delicious! I tested them on Gaby last night and she said they were "okay." (I saw her giving it to the dog though so whatever.)

And then here's the gift ~

THE BOOKMARKS ARE THE IMPORTANT PART. I will admit I'm not overly fond of traveling or spending money, but for this occasion I'm willing to do both! And we're not talking cheap here, either -- business class. And a GOOD hotel. Seriously, I saved up and worked hard to set all this up and NO I'M NOT TELLING ANY OF YOU WHERE WE'RE GOING because I think we all know what would happen. (The words "television producer" and "homeland security" come to mind.)

Though I guess we could post some pics if you guys really want to see them. ;)

I really hope Hugh has fun -- we both need to "get away from it all," especially after these last few months. I know that my three-day work weeks are killing me, so I can only imagine what he's going through. <3
